The Why
Matthew, the founder of Home Within (a sub-brand of Joe McGuire Design), didn’t follow a typical path to design.
His journey began in silence, in a monastery, where he spent years in deep retreat, learning how to quiet the mind and listen to the land.
That same devotion now guides his work creating interiors that help people reconnect with themselves and their surroundings.

The Challenge
Matthew had a profound story to tell, but didn’t know where to begin. With so many meaningful moments in his past, from art school to monkhood to design, he felt overwhelmed trying to decide what to include.
More importantly, he needed the story to feel accurate not just in fact, but in vibration. It had to feel true. That’s where we came in.
The Approach
We began by mapping the arc of Matthew’s evolution: his creative roots, his monastic calling, and his eventual discovery that homes can be vessels for healing and connection.
We carefully selected each location to mirror the inner terrain of his journey, from the Boulder tea hut nestled in the hills to quiet city backstreets that echoed his art school days in Chicago.

The Journey
Every visual was chosen to match the emotional tone of his words. From sunrise moments of stillness to playful laughter with clients on-site, we ensured that no image rang false. One of the most moving scenes captured Matthew and a client smudging her home with sage, connecting deeply with the land beneath their feet.
This wasn’t just a film shoot. It was a sacred collaboration.
Matthew trusted us with his most personal truths. Every step, from our script refinement to our visual planning, was done with reverence. When the final edit came together, Matthew watched in silence, eyes wet with tears. “You captured it,” he said. “I’m so grateful.”

The Result
This film gave Home Within a powerful, soul-aligned way to communicate their vision to the world. A standout piece that is so vastly different from other films within the design space that it immediately connects, converts, and puts them in a category of one.
It now lives proudly on their website and other top-of-funnel materials, helping attract clients who seek more than just a beautiful space. They want a home that resonates with who they are.
IMPACT created a short film that captured the essential story of our wellness design firm. And they did it in an incredibly organized and professional way that made the process easy and fun. They listened with empathy for the heart of the story, and they set it to beautiful footage and sound, creating a truly engaging and inspiring result. They are talented, visionary and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

What We Loved Most
This wasn’t just a film. It was a turning point. Matthew’s story reminded us of why we do this work. His journey inspired our own pivot into the wellness design space, where stories like his are waiting to be seen, felt, and honored.

Each act in our 6-act structure requires a new location to fit the story. This time in the mountains!

Shooting at sunrise at a truly incredible Tea Hut in Boulder, CO was the highlight of the whole production.

All about those details to enhance the narrative.
